No Employee who has completed his/her probationary period shall be disciplined or discharged without just cause. In applying discipline it is recognized that the degree of penalty should be in keeping with the seriousness of the offense and other relevant factors, including the employee’s number of years of service and prior disciplinary record. The following procedure is followed in disciplining employees for just cause.
(a) First Offense: The employee shall receive an oral warning.
(b) Second Offense: The employee shall be given a written warning.
(c) Third Offense: The employee shall be suspended without pay based on the seriousness of the offense and other relevant factors, including the employee’s number of years of service and prior disciplinary record.
(d) Fourth Offense: The employee shall be subject to disciplinary action up to and including discharge.
The Company reserves the right to invoke any step of the progressive discipline procedure including summary discharge without prior warning based on the seriousness of the offense and other relevant factors, including the employee’s number of years of service and prior disciplinary record.
