No wage increase under current contract

Our contract with MaineToday Media requires the company to discuss with the Guild giving a wage increase to members after one year. That discussion has occurred, and Rich Connor has told us there will be no wage increase this year. The wage freeze will remain in effect (except for step increases) until our contract expiration of June of 2011.  The company will reinstate a matching contribution to members' 401K accounts as of September 2, 2010. The match is 50% up to 2% of the employee contribution. In effect, for those individuals who invest at least 2 percent of their pay into their 401K, the company would provide a match equal to 1 percent of their pay. The company will be holding meetings later this summer
