MaineToday Media and the Portland Newspaper Guild Local 128 finalized a labor agreement Tuesday which will last for 18 months. The new contract gives the company flexibility to more aggressively cover local news and opens the door to reinvestment in digital technology. The union, which represents most workers at the Portland Press Herald and Maine Sunday Telegram and newsroom employees at the Central Maine Morning Sentinel in Waterville reached the agreement during expedited negotiations in October and November. The previous contract had expired on June 30.
