June Negotiations Updates

Portland unit

The Guild and company have met four times in June. On June 7 Article III, jurisdiction; Article IV, exempt employees; and the new Guild proposed article privilege against disclosure and authentication were discussed. Neither side made any changes from their previous positions. The sides also discussed going off the record to explore each other’s positions.

On June 19, 20 and 26 the Guild and company moved to off-the-record discussions. The Guild responded to many of the company’s concerns during these sessions. The company, however, continues its intransient position with no real movement from its original position, therefore, these sessions did not yield any agreements. The Guild anticipates going back on the record at the next session during the last week of July.

Waterville unit

The Guild and company met for bargaining on May 10 in Waterville. The Guild’s management rights proposal was rejected by the company. The May 23 session was cancelled by the company.
