These are some of the issues we are looking into and keeping an eye on:

Guild work done by non-Guild members

The Guild is investigating an instance of plant maintenance work being performed by non-Guild members.

Verbal warning

The Guild is investigating the issuance of a verbal warning to a member for too many data entry errors.

Circulation redeliveries

The Guild is investigating an instance of a manager redelivering newspapers. This work is normally performed by circulation helpers, a Guild position.

UPDATE: The company has paid out for the work in question.

Circulation managers doing Guild work

The Guild is investigating an instance of a manager making calls for seasonal starts.

UPDATE: The Guild requested information on this matter and is awaiting a response.

Issuance of a verbal warning

The Guild is investigating the issuance of a verbal warning for failure to follow company procedure.

UPDATE: The letter has been removed and considered coaching. The grievance committee has dismissed as resolved.

Holiday scheduling

The Guild is investigating an issue involving scheduling of part-timers on a holiday.

UPDATE: A grievance has been filed. A meeting has been scheduled for Sept. 6.

Seniority scheduling

The Guild is looking into a seniority scheduling issue between the day and night shift in South Portland.
