Position Purpose/Objective: Supports the Circulation Department’s operations by providing quality customer service to route managers, Independent Contractors, and other internal and external customers in delivery and RCD support areas.

FULL TIME CH ONLY: Perform as team leader for the staff of part-time Circulation Helpers in the execution of the duties listed below. Assumes operational responsibility for RCD in absence of route manager.
• Leadership and coordination efforts are effective and are conducted in a professional manner.
• RCD operations are handled effectively and professionally in the absence of route manager.
Perform the orientation and/or delivery of open routes. (Core)
• Open routes are completed by delivery deadlines and service errors are within department standards.
• Open route collections are timely and processed according to department standards.
• Route lists are updated prior to the delivery of open routes.
• Subscriber concerns encountered on open routes are communicated to route managers in a timely manner.
• Maintenance activities and route audits are conducted in a timely and efficient manner.
• Orientations result in Independent Contractors having the knowledge to fulfill all obligations of contract.
Provides general support to RCD.(Core)
• Carrier bundle labels are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
• Newspaper, advance and related product stackout is accurately completed in a timely manner allowing Independent Contractors to deliver their papers by established delivery deadlines.
• Independent Contractors always receive appropriately zoned newspapers.
• Performs minor cleaning at RCD’s as directed by route manager.
• Assistance with routine administrative tasks and paperwork is performed in a timely and accurate manner.
Perform redeliveries of shortages and complaints to subscribers and Single Copy outlets.(Core)
Subscribers and/or Single Copy outlets receive a replacement copy in good condition within established time parameters .
Assist in the resolution of Un-routables, Not-starteds, Poor Service Stops and SOS complaints. Supportive
Customer service issues are resolved in a timely manner and in accordance with departmental guidelines.
Assist in the communication of delivery deadlines and service results to the Independent Contractor force. Supportive
Communication with Independent Contractors to maintain established delivery deadlines and service results is conducted in an effective and professional manner.
Other related duties as assigned.
Additional duties are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
Required Education and/or Experience/Knowledge: • Must have a valid driver’s license, automobile with proof of automobile insurance and an excellent driving record. • High School diploma or equivalent, or related experience. • Some computer knowledge preferred. • Previous delivery experience is preferred
Requires Skills: Must pass pre-placement post offer screening demonstrating the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and negotiate multiple stairs Ability to work with minimal supervision. Motivated, organized, and dependable team player. Strong customer service and time management skills
