1. New Year's Day, President’s Day, Patriot's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or days celebrated as such, shall be recognized holidays.
2.In addition to the above holidays, employees may substitute Martin Luther King's birthday for any of the above. Such request must be made in writing two (2) weeks prior to the listed or substituted holiday, whichever occurs first in the calendar year.
3.Full-time employees who are scheduled to work on any of these holidays, but are not required to work, shall receive straight time pay for the number of hours normally scheduled for such day. Supervisors shall notify employees not required to work two (2) weeks in advance of such holiday. Full-time employees who are scheduled to work on any of these holidays and who are required to work on such day shall receive the straight time rate for the number of hours normally scheduled to work on such day plus the one and one-half (1 ½) times overtime rate for the number of hours worked on such day. Full-time employees scheduled to work on a holiday shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours at the overtime rate. Such hours will be controlled by the supervisor.
Regular part-time employees who work on a holiday shall be paid the one and one-half (1 ½) times overtime rate for the hours worked. Regular part-time employees who are not required to work on a day observed as a holiday, on which they would be normally scheduled to work, shall be paid straight time pay for the hours normally scheduled for such day.
4.If a holiday falls on a full-time employee's day off or during an employee's vacation period, he/she shall receive an additional day off with pay.
