Pay for new photo imager position

The Guild is looking into the slotting of the wage scale for the new photo imager position.

UPDATE: An arbitration date is set for January 16, 2008. TNG-CWA has agreed to pick up the costs of this arbitration.

Implementation of time clocks in South Portland

The Guild has grieved the implementation of time clocks in South Portland. This is a change in working conditions.

UPDATE: An arbitration date is set for December 4, 2007. TNG-CWA has agreed to pick up the costs of this arbitration.

Circulation work being done by exempt employees and outside contractors

The Guild has grieved the use of exempt employees and outside contractors to process and distribute newspapers.

UPDATE: An arbitration date is set for January 8, 2008.

Making sure work from laid off positions isn’t being done by exempt employees

UPDATE: An arbitration date is set for June 29, 2007. TNG-CWA has agreed to pick up the costs of this arbitration.

Free riders

We have filed a grievance related to the company’s refusal to abide by Article I, Section I of the contract in regard to employees failing to meet their minimum legal financial requirements to the Guild.

UPDATE: An arbitration date is set for October 31, 2007. TNG-CWA has agreed to pick up the costs of this arbitration. One employee has elected to join the Guild and another employee has been terminated on this matter. The company plans on continuing to arbitration on the other two affected employees.
